Godaddy Down

Reports are stating, along with customer complaints, that sites hosted by web host and domain registrar GoDaddy are down and inaccessible by users. E-mail accounts hosted by the server are also affected, as are some of the site’s DNS servers.

GoDaddy’s Twitter account stated that the company is working to resolve the problem.

reported that someone has emerged taking responsibility for the action.

Anonymous Own3r, a Twitter ID, tweeted, “the attack it’s coming only for me. Hello everyone who wanna me to put 99% of the global Internet in #tnagodown?”

The twitter post surfaced after sites originally reported that perhaps the crash was done by a member of the Anonymous hacking group, affecting countless websites and services. However, stated that the issue is not affecting all users.

But Anonymous Own3r made it clear that “the attack is not coming from Anonymous collective…only from me.” The user is claiming sole responsibility for the attack.

The site also mentioned that it is still unclear whether the servers are just being unresponsive or if they are completely offline. WebProsNews reported that the problem might only be affecting the East Coast. Many have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations. Opuscule Productions tweeted: “Not looking good. Over 150 of our client’s websites are down. All @GoDaddy properties offline!”
